Most (93 percent) live at or below 200 percent of poverty and 35 percent are uninsured. In the past 5 years, health centers have added more than 5 million new patients. Health centers are in every U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the Pacific Basin. They employ more than 156,000 staff.
